Four substance abuse treatment centers in Michigan have filed a lawsuit against an insurance company over claims that it “slashed” reimbursement rates, or did not pay, for the treatment of patients at their facilities.<\/p>\n

Central to the dispute is the fact that the four centers are all out of network – one subsequently applied to join – but the suit claims the more than 4,000 patients affected all had coverage under a program that allowed for them to be covered.<\/p>\n

In a statement, New York law firm Napoli Shkolnik, which represents the plaintiffs, said it is looking for compensatory and punitive damages along with disgorgement of profits.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
