{"id":2500,"date":"2018-08-16T20:47:35","date_gmt":"2018-08-17T00:47:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:10028\/whitepapers\/lawsuit-central-maine-power-blames-customers\/"},"modified":"2022-06-27T02:28:04","modified_gmt":"2022-06-27T06:28:04","slug":"demanda-central-maine-power-culpa-clientes","status":"publish","type":"whitepapers","link":"https:\/\/napolilaw.lemonadestand.org\/es\/libros-blancos\/demanda-central-maine-power-culpa-clientes\/","title":{"rendered":"Demanda: Central Maine Power culpa a los clientes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A trio of law firms, including Napoli Shkolnik PLLC who has extensive class-action experience, filed an amended lawsuit Wednesday against Central Maine Power Co., adding an allegation that the company instructed workers to falsely tell customers that excessive bills were the result of high usage or other problems caused by consumers, rather than by the company\u2019s faulty billing and metering systems.<\/p>\n<p>The amended lawsuit accuses the company of committing fraud based on allegations that CMP\u2019s customer service workers were \u201ctrained to always tell the customers that any charges or abnormalities in the bills were the customer\u2019s fault and not CMP\u2019s,\u201d the suit said. The company\u2019s policy, according to the complaint, was intended \u201cto conceal the unauthorized charges that CMP was attempting to collect.\u201d The suit filed in Cumberland County Superior Court amends an earlier complaint that accuses CMP of overcharging customers. The original lawsuit was filed July 19.
