“First and foremost, this is an opioid epidemic. Don’t let anyone try to convince you otherwise. There is a clear opioid epidemic in our community in Nassau, Suffolk Counties, the state of New York and the rest of the United States,” Shkolnik said. “The opioid epidemic didn’t happen by accident.”<\/p>\n

“When each of these defendants \u2026 saw that one of their competitors hit the golden goose, hit the billion-dollar blockbuster drug with OxyContin, they were not going to let them get away with it,” Shkolnik said. “Each and every one of these companies that we’ve sued here today took a piece of that action.”<\/p>\n
