The suit, which was filed against the ex-partner, his attorney and publicist in 2015,\u00a0 is seeking $160 million in compensatory damages and $340 million in punitive damages.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Napoli\u00a0 alleges that the former partner and his team disseminated complaints, &#8220;full of malicious, defamatory lies&#8221;, to the press which caused emotional distress and threatened potential business.<\/p>\n<p>New York Judge St. George\u00a0 is also allowing Marie Napoli&#8217;s prima facie tort claim, as an alternative claim to continue as well as her breach of fiduciary duty claim against the ex-partner, but not against the other defendants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Carmen Victoria St. George is allowing Marie Napoli&#8217;s defamation suit against Paul Napoli&#8217;s former law firm partner to proceed.
