When President Donald Trump was on the campaign trail, his feelings about the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)–and his plan for it–were made clear. As he has moved through the first year of his presidency, his feelings about the EPA haven\u2019t changed, and while he probably won\u2019t eliminate the EPA, he has rolled back dozens of environmental regulations, and has proposed huge budget cuts.<\/p>\n

However, regulations are not being enforced, and an article published in Reuters<\/a> reports that under President Trump, the administration has collected 60 percent less in penalties from polluters than it did previously. As reported in an article in the Scientific American<\/em><\/a>, the Trump administration may also be undermining the reformed law that sought to assess the risks to the environment and human health via the Toxic Substances Control Act.<\/p>\n Knowing what to expect next is difficult – if anything, Trump is unpredictable.
