Uncovering The Truth About Opioid Abuse<\/h2>\n

Napoli Shkolnik is proud to announce that it has been retained by Nassau County to assist the County in a lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies that aggressively marketed and distributed prescription opiates. The litigation will be spearheaded by Paul J. Napoli<\/a>, Salvatore C. Badala<\/a>, and Joseph L. Ciaccio<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano has stated: \u201cLocal governments such as the County of Nassau have spent millions of dollars in costs related to opioid addiction and abuse including health care costs, criminal justice and victimization and lost productivity.\u00a0This litigation seeks restitution from the industry for their aggressive marketing and distribution of opiates.\u201d<\/p>\n

Napoli Shkolnik will work with Nassau County to investigate the impact the over-prescription of opiates has had, and continues to have, on the County\u2019s health insurance plan, treatment programs, and more.<\/p>\n

In the past several months, many towns, counties, and other municipalities have come forward to join the fight with Napoli Shkolnik against the Opioid Epidemic.
