Shkolnik<\/a> has been named as a Plaintiffs\u2019 Executive Committee Member in the <em>Johnson &amp; Johnson Talcum Powder Products Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation <\/em>(Case Number: <a href=\"https:\/\/ecf.njd.uscourts.gov\/cgi-bin\/DktRpt.pl?338636\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3:16-md-02738-FLW-LHG<\/a>) \u00a0by United Stated District Judge Freda L. Wolfson of the United States District Court of New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>The applicant pool for this multi-district litigation was large, however, writing about her appointments, Judge Wolfson noted that the appointees are \u201cqualified to serves in these roles\u201d and that the appointed group would be \u201cefficient\u201d leaders for the litigation. As a member of the Executive Committee, Mr. Shkolnik will continue to investigate and develop the claims while also overseeing the coordination, preparation, and presentation of the necessary legal documentation.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt is a privilege to be appointed to this Executive Committee,\u201d says Hunter Shkolnik. \u201cPeople put their trust in a company who claims to provide safe family products and many of them are paying the ultimate price. My firm and I are ready to fight for the justice the victims and their families deserve.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The class action alleges that Johnson &amp; Johnson (J&amp;J) hid its knowledge that its <a href=\"\/practice-areas\/pharmaceutical-litigation\/talcum-powder-liability\/\">talc-based hygiene products<\/a> had the potential to cause ovarian cancer. Despite having this information, J&amp;J continued to market, produce and sell their products to consumers. \u00a0Scientific evidence has suggested the link between an increased risk for ovarian cancer and the use of talcum powder products.
