Napoli Shkolnik has filed a class action lawsuit against Northrop Grumman Corporation and Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation (collectively \u201cGrumman\u201d) on behalf of fifteen Bethpage residents who have been injured by a massive toxic plume emanating from Grumman\u2019s operations.\u00a0 For the past sixty years, Grumman has caused the release of numerous toxic contaminants, including trichloroethylene (\u201cTCE\u201d), tetrachloroethylene (\u201cPERC\u201d), and other volatile organic compounds (\u201cVOCs\u201d), as well as polychlorinated biphenyls (\u201cPCBs\u201d), arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, and mercury into the ground at its facilities. This has lead to a sch\u00e4dlicher Chemikaliengehalt<\/a> im umliegenden Wohnboden. Exponierte Bewohner sind dem Risiko von Lebersch\u00e4den, Nierensch\u00e4den, Herz-Kreislauf-Sch\u00e4den, beeintr\u00e4chtigter Funktion des Immunsystems, Blasenkrebs, Non-Hodgkin-Lymphom, Nierenzellkarzinom sowie anderen Krankheiten und Krebs ausgesetzt. Schwangere sind besonders gef\u00e4hrdet, da die Einnahme die fetale Entwicklung beeintr\u00e4chtigen k\u00f6nnte. Betroffene Familien, wie zum Beispiel langj\u00e4hrige Bewohner wie Rosalie Romano, wurden nie vor der Gefahr gewarnt. Bei Frau Romano, die h\u00e4ufig den Bethpage Community Park besuchte, wurde Brustkrebs diagnostiziert, ebenso wie bei Maria Spicer, Jayne Mann und Denise Florio, die alle eine Meile voneinander entfernt wohnen.
